Dog Boarding Requirements
Not all dogs are comfortable in a largely social environment. To ensure that all dogs play together safely, DoGone Fun requires an initial visit with you and your dog.
Our staff spends time getting to know your dog and talking to you about your dog’s experiences and history. He/she is then gradually introduced to the play group while we carefully observe his/her reactions. If your dog passes the initial assessment, we require your dog to spend a half day (3-6 hours) with us so we can properly assess your dog.
Scheduling your temperament assessment is a good idea, but we will attempt to serve any walk-ins with all requirements met, Monday through Saturday.
*NOTE: If you plan on boarding your dog with us over the holidays, please do not hesitate to schedule an assessment as early as possible. Our schedule tends to fill up quickly around these times and we’d love to meet your dog!*
**Re-Assessments are required after a year of no DGF services.**
Spayed or Neutered:
For the safety of all of our dogs, every dog over the age of six months must be spayed
According to Illinois and the requirements established for Chicago Dog Boarding laws, we are required to also have the following:
- Current Distemper, Rabies, Parvovirus, and Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccinations
- A fecal exam negative for parasites within the prior 12 months
- Microchip number
- City dog license, if you are a resident of the city of Chicago*
*City dog licenses are available online at, or at the Office of the Chicago City Clerk, City Hall, Room 107, 121 N. LaSalle Street, 312-744-3647. The cost is $5 and you must have proof of your pet’s current rabies vaccination and veterinarian’s documentation of dogs spay or neuter.
