If your dog has never stayed in a boarding facility before, it could turn out to be a stressful experience. He’ll be surrounded by people and other dogs he doesn’t know, and he’ll have to get used to sleeping and playing in an unfamiliar environment. If you think your pet might become anxious about dog boarding, you can make the experience a stress-free one by preparing him ahead of time. One of the best ways to do so is by bringing him to the facility for daycare before your trip.
Bring Your Dog In For Doggy Daycare
Benefits of Doggy Daycare
Some boarding facilities offer more than just overnight stays in kennels and a few walks. At DoGone Fun, we also have dog daycare services that allow pet owners to drop their dogs off for a few hours or an entire day while they’re at work. Daycare gives dogs a chance to spend time playing and having fun with other dogs, which can help them feel less anxious when they’re in a strange environment. The other advantage is that dogs have the opportunity to get used to our facility and staff members before they board with us for a longer period of time. Becoming familiar with these new surroundings makes it easier for dogs to adapt to staying in a new place and away from their families.
If you’re interested in setting up daycare for your pet before using our dog boarding services, there are a few requirements to keep in mind. We’ll have your dog go through a temperament assessment first to make sure that he’ll get along well with other dogs. This is a necessary step that makes our play areas safer for all of our dogs. During the assessment, one of our staff members will spend a lot of one-on-one time with your dog to get to know him better before allowing him to join the play area.
Our other requirements for daycare include:
- Being spayed or neutered
- Having current vaccinations, including parvovirus, rabies, bordetella and distemper
- Negative fecal exam for parasites from the past year
- City dog license for Chicago residents
DoGone Fun offers a wide range of daycare packages to accommodate all kinds of schedules. You can set up daycare for a few full or half days or up to 20 full or half days. We even offer late night hours during the week if that works better with your schedule.
